Emergency Roadside Repairs in the Verde Valley

Mobile mechanics generally do not like to work alongside a busy roadway. There is great inherent danger with roadside repairs. The best thing to do if your vehicle is giving you issues is to pull as far away from the road as possible onto the shoulder. The following is not direct advice from me, but rather what I would do:

  1. TURN ON YOUR HAZARD LIGHTS IMMEDIATELY; if they do not work, then a turn signal should be used at the very least.
  2. Do not stop in the middle of the road if at all possible, try to roll to a shoulder or pull over as far away from the main traffic as possible if the road doesn’t have a wide enough shoulder area.
  3. Do everything you can to remain safe. Generally, the advice is for you and your passengers to remain in your vehicle with your seat belt(s) on. Do not get out of your vehicle. Do not stand behind your vehicle with traffic coming toward you from behind the vehicle–that’s an effective way to get yourself maimed for life or killed. If you must get out of your vehicle and opening your driver’s door is not safe; then exit via the passenger side or the side that is furthest away from the main flow of traffic; walk toward a safe spot far away from the main traffic.
  4. If conditions allow, try to restart the vehicle; if it will not start, do not continue attempting to restart as this can wear out the battery and could cause the hazard flashers to shut off.
  5. Call emergency services if necessary–call 911 for assistance if you are stranded in the middle of the road and in danger of getting rear-ended.
  6. If you are safely off the road, call a tow company; or call your membership tow/roadside assistance service like AAA or whoever you use for auto insurance if towing is included.

Once you and your vehicle are securely back at your house or a safer location, then you can contact me about my services. Once we establish communication, I will travel to you and we can discuss how to approach necessary repairs.

My number is on the image below. You can: text (preferred because I am on the road often and answering a call can be a hassle if I’m in a dead signal zone–plenty of those in the Verde Valley); call (please leave me a message–I get back pretty fast); and of course, use the contact form found here on my site, which will email me.
